Review

Over the last 10 years new models of cars of the V-class have grown up and have replaced traditional 13 and 14-inch tyres on 15-inch. The most demanded sizes for these overages of a class – 185/60R15 and 185/65R15. But as our roads do not please with the ideal quality, many owners of such cars from 60th profile pass to 65th. In view of all these changes in the given class we have decided to test summer tyres dimension 185/65R15.

In the list of tested tyres have included eight models which as it has appeared, are let out in the different countries. So, Dunlop it come from France, Firestone – from Vietnam, Hifly – from China, Nexen - from South Korea, Nokian - from Finland, Pirelli - from Russia, Toyo - from Japan and Yokohama - from Philippines. An index of tyres – H and T. It corresponds to an admissible high-speed limit to 210 and 190 km/h. A loading index almost all tyres 88 that 560 kg answer. Only at Nokian Hakka Green 2 with marks XL index 92 that there correspond 630 kg. The strengthened skeleton of last tyre together with a Hakka-guarantee – the big advantage on our broken roads where wheels are killed extremely quickly.

Summing up, it is necessary to note, first of all, sensational result which the Korean tyre Nexen N'Blue HD has shown. It became the leader in tests of check of brake properties for wet and dry asphalt. And after all at the beginning of our tests about eight years ago tyres of the given brand were absolute outsiders though they were pleasant to automobile owners for V-shaped drawing of a protector popular in those days. According to a total estimation, tyre Nexen N'Blue HD has appeared on the second position in a rating as in some tests weaknesses have been revealed. For example, cross-section coupling properties on dry asphalt, шумность and comfort.

The first place was occupied as a result with tyre Nokian Hakka Green of the second generation. Absence of worthy premiums-contenders has allowed it to become the leader. Though almost closely by results of tests tyre Dunlop Sport Blu Response has approached. But its appreciable backlog in a number of tests, for example in the test «cross-section coupling properties on wet asphalt» became the reason of that the given model could not receive five stars of safety which have appropriated Nokian Hakka Green 2. As a result at Nokian – the first place, at Nexen – the second, and at Dunlop – the third. Tyre Pirelli Cinturato P6 whether in view of absence of updating of this model, whether because of any features in the technologies applied by the country-manufacturer, has shown bad results. Its characteristics несбалансированы, therefore the total estimation has appeared below average. The tyre provides good controllability on dry asphalt, but in high-speed turns badly keeps for a wet covering. In the rest Cinturato P6 – середнячок. Not so it is far from Russian Pirelli in the table of tests there is tyre Firestone Multihawk 2. It silent and comfortable. All its other characteristics averages and below averages. Three tyres have appeared outsiders of the test: Yokohama BluEarth AE01, Toyo NanoEnergy 3 and Hifly HF201. Characteristics of each of them, unfortunately, below the average level (schedules see).

As a result of the tests spent by us it would be desirable to give a practical advice on a note to the automobile owner. If at purchase to be guided only by the price and presence of tyres, it is necessary to consider necessarily all lacks of the given models at car operation.

Brake properties (a brake way)

Brake properties were checked at emergency braking since speed of 80 km/h to 5 km/h. The equipment – V-box Racelogic. Brake properties of tyres sometimes so differ that it is felt on own organism. And at emergency braking about 80 km/h the difference can make to 10 m.

Controllability (value judgment, points)

The behaviour of the car in different tyres was estimated at passage of a wet twisting line and during the test "Rerate" for dry asphalt.

Stability to hydroplaning (speed of emersion, km/h)

On a straight line the beginning проскальзывания wheels of one party of a car was estimated during dispersal. This moment was defined by means of the special equipment, and angular speeds of wheels were compared. From the second party of a car of a wheel slid on wet asphalt. In turn speed of the beginning of appreciable withdrawal of the car was estimated at movement on an irrigated arch with thickness of a sheet of water of 8 mm.

Comfort (value judgment, point)

Value judgment of the test pilots estimating transfer of shock loadings on a body at driving on polytypic roughnesses.

Value judgment of the test pilots estimating level of noise at rectilinear movement, in turns and at sharp maneuvers.
